SAS Siege gives the best chance to beginners for developing their talent in archery. Offering good specs, this solid bow offers a respectable maximum speed of 206 FPS.
This bow can be instinctively finger shot as well making it great not only for beginners but also for experienced archers that have already used a recurve and want to try a compound now.

It gives the shooters right gear of durability and high-quality shooting. Well, looking at it’s specs and features, I feel it is a solid pick and it must be included in the best compound bows for beginners.

This bow shoots as accurate as other models of compound bows that cost three to four times more. With an unbeatable price point, this bow is one hell of a starter compound bow.

Bow Design

This streamlined bow has a simple and nice feel to it. The back pivoting limb pockets accommodate the durable looking solid limbs in its place, thus enhancing accuracy by providing a strong connection with rigid tolerances.

The limbs are being made of layered ABS compressed plastic, which is light but long lasting. The number of cutouts on the aluminum riser gives this bow a waffle look. The twin cam idlers activate once you pull the string back with 55 lbs of force while making the draw cycle smoother. It comes in three finishing black, silver and Autumn Camo.

The product dimensions are 4.5 x 2.9 x 0.6 inches.

Ease of Adjustment

The SAS features a smooth and simple twin cam system which works well for beginners and doesn’t require much adjustment. These durable cams are less likely to come out of the sync.

By loosening the bolt, its draw weight will decrease by 5 lbs whereas by doing vice versa, the draw weight will increase by 5 lbs. Make sure not to make more than three full turns.

The dual cam system makes the pull smooth for shooting accurately with consistency. The 70 % let-off makes it really good for the beginners who want to concentrate on aiming and proper form. Unfortunately, it doesn’t include a manual for a detailed product adjustment.

Package Accessories

Its package includes adjustable 5-pin bow sight, a sight light, stabilizer, an arrow rest, bow sling; paper target and tube peep sight. You might want to add a nock, D-loop or sight otherwise this package is perfect.

Weight and Flexibility

Featuring a draw weight of 40-45 lbs, the SAS  Siege is best for adult beginners. Some might feel a little bit of burn at first but a man with an average strength can handle it easily. Its compressed ABS limbs span weight, balance, and strength for the long life of the bow.

The 41.5 axle-to-axle length is on the tall side lending some heft to it, making it perfect for target shooting. The strong piece layered limb of this compound is used for drawing weights up to 55 lbs enhancing the shooter’s durability with the high-quality right gear.

The let-off relieves most of its weight and tension allowing the beginner to shoot without feeling tired.

String Quality

The string is sturdy like all other available compound bows in the market. SAS recommends waxing the strings before shooting to attain maximum accuracy along with a long lasting, tough and flexible bow.

Accuracy in Hunting

The company recommends a 30″ carbon or aluminum arrow for attaining maximum accuracy. The curb appeal of the riser enhanced further accuracy of this bow. Once the string is released, it launches an arrow with an outstanding speed of 206 FPS. This bow has certain sounds and vibrations when you shoot it.

So you need to add a stabilizer to get the hand shock out of it. By adding a string silencer, the vibrations can be brought down even more.

Warranty and Customer Service

The Southland Archery Supply fully covers this product with a 3-year manufacturer warranty. This warranty covers repair/replacement of damaged/defective products only which is determined by the reseller.

Conclusion

The SAS Siege offers an excellent intersection between accessibility and quality for beginners. This bow not only suits the beginners but also intermediate or seasoned archers who need an additional compound while saving a few bucks.

The SAS Siege will serve you for years as its great quality is comparable to the models of big brands. The top-notch look of SAS when combined with durability and accuracy makes it an ideal starter bow.
